About Kāinga Care
Kāinga Care is a member of the Social Work Projects portfolio of enterprises. SWP is a development company, formed in 2010, that creates services that support social care needs across England and Wales. The company was established in 2010, initially offering Social Work specialist assessments within the Children’s Services sector.
We now offer a number of services:
Mental Health Training
Neon Training – specialising in Early Years and Residential Care training
Walk a Mile – specialising in media production and creative digital services
Kāinga Care has developed from the founders professional interest in all aspects of Social Care, developing innovative solutions for families and people that enhance their quality of life.
Kāinga was founded with the principles of keeping the family together and making elderly living more afordable. Our name reflects ideas from Māori culture who value the extended family (whanau), the community (hapu): and Kāinga means ‘Home’.
We at Kāinga completely believe that strong connected families result in happier people and better societies. Any solution we can offer that supports this we believe is a positive for everyone.
Our offices are in Needham Market in Suffolk, and an example of the Kāinga Care Annexe is available for viewing.
We make the whole process as easy as possible and therefore any disruption to your family life is minimal. We also provide on-going support and guidance as we understand the challenges facing families as they try to balance their care responsibilities with day to day life.
All of our Kāinga Care Annexes involve you in the design process so that each Annexe accommodates your needs and requirements. We will make sure that your Annexe is suitable for your garden, and that it is fully connected to all services. We create a care package that suits your needs and always has the ability to amend if required.
Our Temporary Kāinga Care Annexes are available on a rental basis and will be removed once you no longer need it. Or, if you wish to have a permanent Annexe in your garden we can arrange this too.

We make sure that all the services provided or arranged are of the highest quality. Our Assessors are fully registered with Social Work England, members of BASW and accredited by SOLLA (Society of Later Life Assessors).
Our annexes, if supplied, are made from Baltic Spruce using N/case construction. They are manufactured to BS3632:2005, and are compliant with the Caravan Act 1968 (s13) and therefore do not require planning consent.
